(October 1, 2008) — Educational Testing Service (ETS) today announced an agreement to enter into a strategic alliance with EDmin.com, Inc. (EDmin®) for the sale and service of the IDMS® (Instructional Data Management System™) application. EDmin is a leading provider of learning management solutions that enable school districts and teachers to accelerate student learning and improve performance. The IDMS application is a web-based system that helps K–12 educators manage and use assessment data to drive instructional practices, improve student achievement and optimize learning results. The IDMS technology delivers data directly to the desktop computers of school leaders and teachers. It identifies critical state standards and allows educators to pace instruction, align materials to the standards, create assessments, and generate meaningful, actionable reports at the district, school, class and student levels. Online test management and scoring options give educators flexibility to administer and score tests online or use paper-based tests. Clients with the IDMS application can use the ETS® Formative Assessment Item Bank to create assessments. “EDmin’s expertise in utilizing technology to improve student performance is why ETS is confident that clients will benefit from this new relationship,” explains Phil Tabbiner, senior vice president, ETS. “Their passion and expertise is why we believe they are the best company to work with our IDMS application customers.” EDmin Chief Executive Officer Peter Sibley agrees, noting that “the transition will be seamless and clients will not experience any interruption in service.” He adds that in terms of business strategy, the acquisition of the IDMS product further enables EDmin to achieve its mission of improving learning opportunities for every student by providing access to resources that will optimize learning.
