American English Academy (AEA) is an international school established in 1992 in Sofia, Bulgaria by Frank and Ruth Munsey. It started with 15 American students, but each year there has been remarkable growth. In the year 2007-2008 AEA served students from 31 countries and had a total enrollment of 175 students. AELTA was established in 1995 by a group of professionals in the field of English Language Teaching, namely Karine Mouradyan, who in the first election of officers was elected AELTA First President; Patricia Boyle; Nelly Harutunyan; Maria Bobrova; Antje Cripe, Rousan Topchyan, Angela Hakobyan, Anoush Khatchikyan, Nelly Baratyan, Ruzan Sargssyan, Ruzann Danielyan and others.
