Pascal English School
founded in 1988, fully recognised by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus. It belongs to one of the largest and most reputable educational organisations in Cyprus, PASCAL Education which comprises two Greek schools (in Nicosia and Limassol) and three English schools, one in Larnaca, one in Limassol and one in Nicosia, two of which are at the same time accredited International Baccalaureate schools. n Students are admitted to PASCAL English School only after succeeding in the entrance examination which comprises papers in Maths, Greek and English (Greek applies only to Greek speaking students). n Lower school students, Years 1-3, follow a broad curriculum consisting of the following compulsory subjects: English, Drama, Greek, Classical Appreciation, French, Mathematics, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Religious Knowledge, Art, Music, Physical Education, Information Technology and PSHE (Greek, Classical Appreciation and Religious Knowledge apply only to native Greek speaking students. Non-native Greek speaking students take Greek as a second language and/or Religious Studies). n Upper school students, Years 4-6, study 6 core subjects: English, Greek, Information Technology, Greek History, Religious Knowledge and Physical Education plus 3 to 6 additional optional subjects. Students in Year 4 in addition to their school work are given the option of taking the IGCSE - Higher Tier exams in their optional subjects (Greek, Greek History and Religious Knowledge apply only to Greek speaking students. Non-Greek speaking students take Greek as a second language and/or Religious Studies). n Students in Years 5 and 6 in addition to their school work, which is geared towards the Apolytirion, may also choose to take the GCE AS and A level exams respectively. Alternatively, some students may choose in Years 5 and 6 the 2-year International Baccalaureate Diploma programme which again leads to the Apolytirion and/or the IB Diploma.
